Friendship Adventures is an all volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of people with developmental disabilities. We provide social, recreational and educational activities in a safe, engaging environment—building interpersonal skills, confidence and lifelong friendships.
Friendship Adventures was founded in 2004 by Maureen Browning, who grew up in a family who believed in the importance of inclusion and knew the value of social activities for people with disabilities. In effort to create activities for her brother Dean, who had Down syndrome, she began organizing dances, bowling parties, and gatherings–and from there, the concept grew. Today, the organization serves over 1500 participants and offers more than 200 social events and educational classes each year.
