Please register for the session(s) you would like to attend.  You may register for as many weekends as you desire.  Participants who attend more than one weekend will have the opportunity to advance their skills and weave additional projects. This is ONE class, you must pick the date you want to attend.

In our upcoming Weaving Workshop class series, participants will:

• Be introduced to the art of weaving
• Use a loom to create their very own woven piece to take home
• Have the opportunity to participate in a communal Friendship Academy community weaving project
• Learn about being eco-friendly as they reuse and upcycle salvaged fiber from items like t-shirts, sweaters, and fabric remnants

Weaving is a calming and fun multisensory activity that can create new avenues for creative expression.  The repetitive nature of the weaving process also offers a lot of opportunities to work on eye-hand coordination, motor skills, pattern recognition, and sequencing.  Participants will feel successful and confident learning this new skill as Kelsey breaks down the weaving process into small steps that can be practiced and repeated at their own pace.  At the end of each workshop participants will leave with a sense of accomplishment and a beautiful tangible product to keep or share.

Previous weaving experience is not necessary.  Shared equipment will be cleaned between uses.

The health and safety of our participants is our number one priority.  At this time, all students, instructors and volunteers are required to have been vaccinated for Covid-19 to attend classes to comply with Governor Inslee’s Proclamation.  Masks must be worn indoors while in close proximity with appropriate distancing assisted by our instructors.  Classrooms surfaces will be cleaned after each use.

Pre-registration is required due to restricted class sizes.  Registration/release forms must be completed at time of registration and include a copy of your vaccination record.  Students will not be allowed to attend without completed forms being received prior to the start date of the class.

Friendship Adventures/Friendship Academy does not provide one-on-one personal care for participants attending our classes and activities.  If personal care is required, an assistant may attend with them at no cost but are required to show a copy of their vaccination record.

Please wear old clothes for art and craft classes that you don’t mind getting a bit soiled.
